Interchange Policy & Requirements for Drayage Carrier

  • Must be set up as a Business Entity (Carrier)
  • 10 truck (minimum fleet) – NO BROKERING
  • Must have a Satisfactory Safety Rating
     
  • ICC Common or Contract Carrier Authority Only:
    Carrier must agree that all freight tendered to carrier by CSXI Terminals must be transported on equipment operated only under the authority of the Carrier. The Carrier shall not in any manner sub-contract, broker, or in any other form arrange for the freight to be transported by a third party.
  • USDOT Hazardous Materials Registration or Letter stating Carrier is not registered and will not haul Hazmat loads

  • Insurance Requirements
    (Certificates of Insurance are submitted directly to the UIIA)
  • Auto Liability (Bobtail) $1,000,000
  • Comprehensive General Liability $1,000,000
  • Motor Truck Cargo $100,000
  • Trailer Physical Damage $30,000
  • Workers’ Compensation / Employers Liability $500,000
  • CSX Intermodal Terminals is required to be named additional insured on both Auto and General Liability policies
  • All commercial motor vehicles that are subject to the DOT & UIIA regulations, and entering onto any of our facilities are required to display their carrier name and their assigned “USDOT” number on both sides of the power unit.
  • The size, shape, location and color of the marking must be as follows:
  1. Appear on both sides of the self-propelled vehicle.
  2. Be in letters that contrast sharply in color with the background.
  3. Be readily legible, during daylight hours, from a distance of 50 feet while thevehicle is stationary.

**Drayage Carriers are required to provide their own Comcheks for Lumpers, etc. CSX Intermodal Terminals will no longer issue Comcheks to the drivers and/or Independent Contractors for the Drayage Carrier under no circumstances.**
